Marine Lot No 281, Fifty feet-square,
situate at the far West of Victoria, distance half a mile from
the centre of the Town,
was
purchased
by
me
at the auction sale of
Marine Lots and Inland
Lands
in
December 1845, and, notwithstanding its distance from the Town, its upset price, was after the
rate as the most
eligible Marine Frontages;
at
this same auction the whole of the Sea-shore adjoining this Lot, and the Inland Lots on the opposite side the
Road
were
sold; in fact, so great was
the
competition
at the sale, and the impression being that the surrounding Lots would be built upon
